Both our full-time and part-time Online CELTA courses are 100% equivalent to face-to-face CELTA courses and lead to the same official Cambridge CELTA certificate. Online courses are suitable for those who wish to teach online, or for those who are unable to come in to study at one of our face-to-face venues, but who are comfortable working online. They are the ideal preparation for a career in teaching English online, a rapidly growing part of our profession.
Is online CELTA right for me?
You don’t need teaching experience to take CELTA. Whether you’re feeling stuck in your current job, just finishing university, or already working in education, CELTA is designed to give you practical skills, clear guidance, and a qualification recognised around the world.
Our trainees include recent graduates, career changers, online teachers, and people planning a move abroad. What they share is a decision to do something different, and a desire to feel confident in front of a class.

You could be taking the first steps to an exciting new career as an English teacher abroad from the comfort of home. An online CELTA course will prepare you for a professional career teaching English, whether in Asia, Latin America, the Middle East or in Europe. After a four-week course, you could be living a completely different life abroad, supporting yourself with a new career.
“The part-time online CELTA was seamless from start to finish. Tutors were fantastic, the environment inclusive and creative. I’ve gained skills, confidence, and friends for life.”

Teaching Practice on the Online CELTA
Just like the face-to-face course, the Online CELTA includes live teaching practice on Zoom with real students. You’ll plan and deliver lessons, receive feedback from Cambridge-approved tutors, and observe other lessons too. Teaching practice is at the heart of CELTA, and it’s every bit as rigorous online as it is in the classroom.
